Terms of Service
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Agreement
These terms govern your use of LegitShield™ (legitshield.com), operated by Modular Technology Solutions ("LegitShield," "we," "us"). By creating a LegitShield Passport or confirming a deal, you agree to these terms.
What LegitShield is — and isn't
LegitShield is a portable identity and Deal History service: it records that people confirm they dealt with each other, and surfaces optional feedback and connected-account information.
LegitShield is not:
- A marketplace, and does not facilitate payments between Members.
- A guarantee, certification, or determination that any Member is trustworthy, safe, or legitimate.
- A party to, or guarantor of, any deal between Members.
- An escrow, payment-protection, or insurance service.
Information on LegitShield (connected accounts, Deal History, feedback, and answers from LeSA, our AI assistant) is provided to help you make your own decision. It is not advice, and LegitShield does not vouch for any Member.
A connected account shows that a Member signed in to that account. It is not government ID verification. Where a Member chooses to show them, the name and picture of a connected account are the ones that account gave LegitShield, and a profile link may be one the Member typed in, which LegitShield does not check. Only add a profile link that is your own.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use LegitShield. Each person may hold one Member account. You're responsible for activity that happens through your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another person, or claim an external account you don't control.
- Create fake, staged, or coordinated deals or feedback.
- Manipulate reputation through reciprocal or fabricated activity.
- Attempt to circumvent LegitShield's security, rate limits, or access controls.
- Use LegitShield to harass another person.
- Use the service for anything unlawful.
Consistent with our product principles, having a low rating, negative feedback, or no history is not itself a violation of these terms — restrictions focus on the platform-abuse behaviors listed above, not on the content of genuine feedback.
Searching and viewing Passports
Passport records and name search are for logged-in Members. Use them only to check people you're considering dealing with. Don't collect, copy, or republish other Members' information in bulk, and don't try to get around search limits. Names aren't unique: make sure you're looking at the right person before relying on a Passport.
LeSA, the LegitShield Assistant (AI)
LeSA is an AI assistant that explains how to read a Passport. Its answers are generated automatically, can be wrong or incomplete, and are not advice or a judgment about anyone. Check the Passport itself before relying on an answer. LeSA may be limited or switched off at any time.
Payments between members
LegitShield does not receive, hold, send or refund money, and is not a party to any payment. A member may show on their Passport the ways they accept payment, and may add their own payment QR (for example GCash, Maya or PayNow). We check only that a QR is a payment code; we don't check whose account it pays or that the member can be trusted with your money. You pay each other directly, at your own risk: check the person's record and the account name your payment app shows before you send. Only add a QR for an account that is yours.
Contacts and messages
You can message members who have accepted you as a contact. Don't use messages to harass, threaten, spam or scam anyone, to ask for passwords, codes or payments outside an agreed deal, or to share anything illegal. Report or block anyone who does. We may limit messaging, remove content or restrict an account that breaks these rules. Messages between members are their own arrangement: LegitShield isn't a party to them, and only deals recorded on LegitShield count on a Passport.
Deal tips
You may film a short deal tip or story and send it to us. It must be your own, about something that really happened, and must not name or show other people without their permission, accuse a named person or business, include private details, or promote anything for sale.
By sending a tip you give LegitShield permission, free of charge, to edit it (trim it, add captions and our outro) and to post it, with your face, voice and, if you chose, your name and Passport ID, on LegitShield's social media pages. We decide which tips to feature, and may feature none. You can withdraw a tip in the app until it is featured, and ask us at any time to take a posted tip down. A featured tip is your own view, not LegitShield's, and is not an endorsement of you by LegitShield.
Your content and feedback
When you submit Deal Feedback, you confirm it reflects your genuine experience with that deal. You're responsible for the feedback you submit. We may remove feedback or deal records, or restrict an account, where we determine platform abuse occurred (see Acceptable Use above), following the process described in our integrity/trust & safety approach.
Disputes between Members
LegitShield lets participants flag a deal as disputed and view that a dispute exists; we do not adjudicate the underlying disagreement between Members. Resolving disputes between yourself and a counterparty is between you and them.
Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for violating Acceptable Use above. We'll aim to tell you why where we reasonably can. You may stop using LegitShield and request account deletion at any time — see Data Deletion Instructions.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
LegitShield is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for losses arising from your deals or dealings with other Members — LegitShield is not a party to those deals. [Placeholder — final disclaimer and liability-cap language to be set with counsel.]
Changes to these terms
We'll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and post material changes here before they take effect.
Governing law
[To be finalized — governing law and dispute-resolution venue depend on the operating entity's jurisdiction, not yet specified here.]
